Giving at Grace
Giving comes in many forms. It is as varied as the people who give of their time, talents and money. In addition to projects at Grace we are committed to supporting Missionaries and various Christian organizations that exemplify the Grace of God in our community and around the world. Following are some that we have singled out for support in 2010.
January - February - March
ELCA Domestic Disaster Response (5%) --
Bringing God's comfort to those who are suffering from disaster.
LSS Homeless Youth (5%) --
The LSS Metro Homeless Youth Services offer a continuum of holistic services to runaway, homeless, and street-dependent youth in the Twin Cities Metro Area.
April - May - June
God's Global Barnyard (5%) --
ELCA World Hunger projects that help feed people through the gift of animals and agriculture.
VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) (5%) --
VEAP is a local non-profit agency serving low-income families, individuals, elderly and disabled persons in the communities of Bloomington, Edina, Richfield, and South Minneapolis, MN.
July - August - September
ELCA Lutheran Malaria Initiative (5%) --
An initiative to educate U.S. Lutherans about malaria, advocate for global health initiatives, and raise funds to help combat malaria
Feed My Starving Children (5%) --
Feed My Starving Children is an organization that works hard at eliminating child starvation in the world. You are welcome to see their operation first hand ... volunteer to help pack meals! A group from Grace goes once a month to help at the Eagan facility.
October - November - December
Micro Loans - (5%)
Our Savior's Homeless Shelters (5%) --
From homelessness to concentrated poverty to the marginalized immigrants and refugees... the inner-city is full of challenges and opportunities. For over 25 years, the programs of Our Saviour’s Outreach Ministries have been addressing these challenges.
