DORLEY LERUD is a well-known and established teacher in the Twin cities area.  She earned her Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice with a minor in Piano at Syracuse University in New York.  She continued at S.U. in the graduate Program in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance.  Ms. Lerud also received a second degree in Music Education from Mankato State University in MN..  She has taught Voice at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and Bethel College in St. Paul, MN..  She was owner and Director of one of Bloomington's first private Music Schools, The Music Staff (now called Minnesota Valley School of Music).  Her continuing education includes workshops in performance, voice therapy and diction for German, French, Latin and Italian song literature.  Ms. Lerud has been Choral Music Director for several Twin Cities churches where she directed choirs ages 6th grade through adults.  In addition to the regular church year her choirs permormed special Cantatas, Concerts and Christian Musicals - - the latter with instruments, costumes and choreography.  Ms. Lerud has taught voice and performance classes with Musical Avenues, a Bloomington based "after school" music program, since its beginning.  She has been teaching private lessons for the Choir Program at Minnehaha Acaademy for 2 & 1/2 years,  the Concordia Academy/ Bloomington Madrigals and private lessons at Great River Charter School in St. Paul.  She is a member of N.A.T.S. (National Association of Teachers of Singing).
