How can I share my faith?

Following Jesus’s call to love our neighbors as ourselves, there are many local and global opportunities to reach out in mission:

• VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People)

Sorting produce for the food pantry, help teach cooking and/or baking classes, stocking food pantry shelves, provide rides for VEAP clients, help with event planning

Help serve meals or snacks, reading to kids, story-telling
NOTE: Volunteering at KinderCare requires an FBI background check, including fingerprinting. KinderCare provides background check form and a list of places for fingerprinting. Cost of this process may be underwritten by the church.

Help prepare and serve community meal, read stories (in English or Spanish) for language classes

• Area Schools: JFK High School, Valley View Middle School, Valley View Elementary School, Indian Mounds Elementary School
Volunteer roles such as cafeteria server (JFK), “Rocking Readers” (Elementary), or supporting the Pantry (JFK, VVMS)

• CommonBond Communities (affordable housing): Sites in Bloomington and Edina

• Bloomington/Richfield Grief Coalition
Provide rides to people wishing to attend. Coalition meets for eight-week session at various local churches.

• Lutheran Campus Ministry at U of M, Lutheran colleges and other schools
Writing support cards for students, providing care packages for students

Knitting or sewing baby caps or blankets (Patterns available from Pastor Dave), helping to assemble items for various kits (newborn, hospice, diapers, rolled bandages).
